CFCS Holds the 3rd Youth Forum on Frontiers of Computing
On April 4th, 2019, Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies (CFCS), Peking University hosted the 3rd Youth Forum on Frontiers of Computing at No.5 Courtyard of Jing Yuan. Moderated by Professor Baoquan Chen, executive director of CFCS, this forum invited Dr. Zhengyou Zhang, director of Tencent AI Lab, and Taku Komura, associate professor of University of Edinburgh, to give keynote speeches. 8 young scholars from well-known universities at home and abroad shared their cutting-edge research works.

At the opening ceremony, Professor John E. Hopcroft, director of CFCS, initiator of Turing Class, and foreign member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, highly affirmed China's achievements in education and scientific research reform in recent years and placed high expectations on improving China's education and the ability of training world-class research scholars. Professor Hopcroft said that higher education in China is undergoing a transition from "quantity" to "quality". With the strong investment in the field of artificial intelligence, young scholars will have more opportunities for development at home. He sincerely hoped that young scholars with excellent teaching ability and scientific research potential will join CFCS for the contribution to China's education and research.
