On July 11^th, 2019, Professor John Hopcroft, Turing Laureate, foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies (CFCS), Peking University, visited DiDi to discuss the opportunities and challenges of AI technology in transportation and the multi-dimensional cooperation on Outstanding Teaching Award Program and with CFCS, Peking University with DiDi co-founder, CTO Bo Zhang and his team. Professor Baoquan Chen, Executive Director of CFCS, Professor Xiaotie Deng of CFCS and Dr. Hao Dong, assistant professor of CFCS accompanied.

Professor John Hopcroft was impressed by DiDi's investment in AI technology and talent cultivation, and praised DiDi's determination to challenge AI technology problems constantly, its concept of open cooperation, connecting the top innovative resources of universities all over the world, and their actions of cultivating computer science talents of next generation.

Professor Baoquan Chen introduced the Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies, Peking University in the meeting. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on the possible cooperation in the future.

Professor Hopcroft, as one of the initiators of Outstanding Teaching Award Program of Computer Science in China, has been collaborating with DiDi for almost 2 years in improving the educational quality of undergraduates in China, and we look forward to a closer relationship with DiDi in the future!
