Welcome Dr. Ruosong Wang to Join CFCS, Peking University

 

Welcome Dr. Ruosong Wang to join CFCS, Peking University as an assistant professor in January 2024. Read his profile here:

 

Dr. Ruosong Wang joined Peking University in January 2024 and is currently an assistant professor at Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies, PKU. Prior to joining Peking University, he was a postdoctoral scholar in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at University of Washington. He received his Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University, and his Bachelor of Engineering from Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, Tsinghua University.

 

His research focuses on the theoretical foundation of modern machine learning. His current research interests include (i) designing provably efficient reinforcement learning algorithms, (ii) proving hardness results for the sample complexity of reinforcement learning and (iii) designing efficient and robust reinforcement learning systems. His research has been published in top venues including STOC, FOCS, SODA, ICML, NeurIPS and ICLR.
